Now there is a member of the Air Chicago family specifically designed for aprons and other small/medium sized items. The AIR CHICAGO SLIM is a compact niche model for small to medium size towels and aprons, as well as laundries with limited floorspace.

Minimum piece size is 15” x 18” (375mm x 450mm) and maximum piece size is 30” x 52” (750mm x 1300mm). There is also the potential of multiple machines (up to four across) on the back of an ironer to automatically receive small pieces (including aprons) for folding/stacking.

AIR CHICAGO technology is also available in two extended lengths, XL and XXL, to accommodate bath blankets and thermal blankets up to 96" (2200 mm) or 108" (2700 mm) long and 72" (1800 mm) wide, with the flexibility to accurately fold towels, gowns, and pads. The use of a larger folding field, specially designed air flow bars, and a more advanced version of the CHI logic system enables Air Chicago XL and XXL to accommodate these larger items without sacrificing folding quality or speed.

All Air Chicago models are also now available in Extra Wide (XW) models to accommodate items up to 48” (1200mm) wide, or 96” (2200 mm) wide before prefolding.

The AIR CHICAGO folder series offers a wide range of models to meet the needs of hospitality, healthcare, and commercial laundries processing towels, blankets, patient gowns, and other items. Air Induced Response provides highly accurate French folds and crossfolds – without the use of folding blades.

The operator selects the type of item being processed and everything else is done automatically by the Chicago High Intelligence (CHI) control, including width adjustment, air blast level and timing, crossfold selection, stack size and conveyor advance. Delivery conveyor can be adjusted to discharge stacked items to front, rear, or side of folder.
